Especially with RPG maker, I would have appreciated a list of what was your content and what was from the engine so I'd know what to focus on, but as it is I'll just speak to the game as a whole.

First off: Well done! Whatever comes out of it, the completion of a game jam is no small feat! Congratulations on getting through.

The thing I noticed most was the music. It was excellent. If this was made during the jam consider me thoroughly impressed with your musician.

Art: I'm decently sure the art is from the engine. It looks very good, but I'll leave it there since I don't think that's where your effort went.

Story: The dialogue and story feel a bit rushed. When dealing with a story that has to be short due to time constraints, consider starting the story at the ending rather than trying to introduce the quest and characters to us and show a rushed form of character bonding. Just provide a bit of narration bringing the player up to speed about a party that has already been given a quest and sent on their way. The "I'm just a student at the academy" line in particular felt unnatural as in game exposition, and would have served better as narration.

Gameplay: The gameplay is well balanced, but doesn't have anything to make it stand out. You made a complete game, but consider if you were to develop this into a full game: what would make me want to play your game over any other? Find a central mechanic, something that differentiates your rpg from all the others out there, and center all your gameplay around showing it off. As it stands, kudos to your balancing. It was a smooth ride all the way through, it just comes off as a bit generic.

As a P.S. I accidentally reentered the town where the lady was and it replayed the battle with her in my party fighting herself, lol. Also, if there was a final boss put into the game, I wasn't able to start it for some reason. I suspect it fell prey to time constraints.

Congratulations again on making it through a game jam! If some of my comments were negative about aspects you worked on, don't feel discouraged. The first time I put original music in a game, I received the comment "OMG MY EARS ARE BLEEDING". Game development is a process learned through trial and error. All I hope is that by providing candid/helpful feedback I can point you in the right direction for your future endeavors!

Can't wait to see what you make next!

Thank you for the feedback! I definitely will take this all into account with my more long-term rpgmaker project.
